Instagram Log in to Continue Reddit
Forced to sign in just to use the website?
I have an account and it's logged in on my phone. But sometimes I look at insta pages on my computer and I do it without being signed it. Now recently, they don't let you look at the website without being signed in. Is this just how it will be from now on? YouTube, Twitter, Reddit etc don't force you to sign in just to read the site, so why is Insta doing this???

Seriously, this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. No other website forces you to make an account just to view public pages

Same here. I don't have an IG account. Every once in a while I get curious and l scroll thru some verified profiles (i.e. Phil Heath, Calum Von Mother, Chris Hemsworth, The Rock, etc...)
But as of a few days ago I started noticing once I scroll down enough to get to the next set of posts (screen starts to load them) I get this "Login to continue" prompt.
Bullshit.

Ok sure but what does that have to do with wanting to view public pages? No one should be forced to make an account/login to their account just to view a public page. For example, Ariana Grande has something like 165 MILLION followers. There's nothing private about her page. It's for the public, yet you are banned from viewing it without an account??

Which is dumb as fuck, because the point of Instagram is to get famous and expose literally everything from your life.

Those on PC:

Right click page
-
Open Inspect Panel
-
delete the last <div> tags before the </body> tag (only two specific ones necessary, but safe to remove all 4 between the end body tag and the last <script> tag)

scroll up to the start of the body tag, double click the style="overflow: hidden" and delete "overflow: hidden"
Done. You can now proceed to continue to browse the page as normal without being logged in. Cheap effort on their part lol.... I don't browse Instagram much at all but to took me a whole 60 seconds to figure out how to get around this new login wall. I'm tempted to make a chromium extension to do it automatically just to spite them.

Please do this. And spread it as far wide as possible. This is a handy method I use to check if an account is private or not when I am sitting at my computer.

its petty but i legit dont make an account specifically because of this shit feature. it makes me hate Instagram and just wanna go without it

I'm glad that google search brought you here, because before I made this thread, I couldn't even find anyone online talking about this.
Yeah I think it's so stupid that they do this now. I can't think of any other major website that forces you to make an account just to view a public page

Instagram fucking sucks now. Yeah, you can't lurk anymore without an account. You have to sign in to use the search! No more instagram for me. It's garbage.
